The idea that colon cleansing can help to eliminate toxins from the body and cause great health benefits is now a widely believed idea.
More and more people are having colonic hydrotherapy treatments as a means to rid their bodies of these nasty toxins. However, not everyone can afford to do this and others just do not like the idea of it.
There are ways of flushing through the colon without having this type of procedure and you should be able to do it yourself. You can get help from a practitioner with this or talk to your doctor. Make sure that you start by contacting your doctor to make sure that it is safe for you to change your diet and lifestyle in this way, especially if you have any medical conditions.
Then you need to cut out all of the fatty and unhealthy foods that you are eating such as ready meals and take aways and cut out high fat meats, high fat dairy, alcohol, sodas, sugary foods and fried foods. It is probably best to avoid eating out as it can be hard to find healthy options or to avoid being tempted by the unhealthy ones.
Try to replace these unhealthy foods with a good variety of fruit and vegetables as well as low fat dairy foods which do not have many toxins in them so use organic where possible.
It is also a good idea to start eating whole grains as the fibre will help things move along your gut more efficiently. You may also like to use some natural laxatives to aid the cleansing process, eating prunes regularly can help with this.
Drink plenty of water and do lots of exercise. If you do not normally exercise then build up to it slowly. Add probiotics to your diet and they can help to rid the body of bad bacteria. You can find probiotics in some yoghurts and yoghurt drinks.
Try using some herbal supplements which are specifically for use for colon cleansing or you can make up your own recipes maybe using flax seeds, licorice root, and/or mint. These should naturally help the detox and cleansing process.
You should be able to find the supplements and the recipes on the Internet if you do not like the idea of going into a shop to buy them.
